(biology-online.org) Ecological Habitat Place where an organism or a biological population normally lives or occurs (biololgy-online.org) Usually microscopic free-floating, photosynthetic organisms in aquatic systems. Population A set of organisms of the same species within a defined area. Population Sample A subset of individuals in a biological population. Sample A sample may be material or conceptual in nature, e.g. tissue sample, rock sample, water sample, statistical population sample, etc. A subset of an entity.
